Whatever you say

Whatever you say

Looking toward a brighter future is something that I do near constantly because in every moment there is solstice to be found in knowing that change is gonna come. Sometimes change can seem scary but I think it is more so the uncertainty of what is shifting that frightens people. Knowing is more than power, it is peace. To some, not knowing is a source of agony. For me, the unknown seems exciting and possibly fruitful. I look into the future with a gaze that is at ease. One that is neither afraid nor excited. One that is ready and willing to use the tools that have been passed down to me by these before us.

I tried typing my blog post again today, but I found out real quick why I stopped doing it in the first place. It seems like the further I step away from these habits, the more they contrast when I revisit them. Going hands-free as much as possible has led me to a luxury and privileged lifestyle which I am thankful for. As I continue to move throughout the day, I keep in mind the ergonomics that are often overlooked. I will remember why I started doing things like voice text, command, and control. These computers are so powerful that sometimes we put ourselves second. Hands-free method is my way of taking back control. That being said, I am using my phone and texting this message to myself and that requires one hand at a time. Also, dictation is a bit inefficectivr at times like when there is background noises. Thankfully, I rose early today and I am able to enjoy the quiet hours before the city begins bustling. While I was filling up my water before going to the gym, I was fortunate enough to go out on the balcony and get some fresh air before the city woke up. I am a sunrise watcher as well as a sunset viewer. I love being outside and would spend all day out there. I am wondering how to do this but still be connected to my academic obligations as well as other domestic ones. I will say, however, that I am inspired by nature and the closer that I moved towards bare feet and clean grass, the stronger that feeling becomes. I am a land owner, investor, farmer, homesteader, Van Lifer, and more! Of course, I am all of these things at heart because I am renting, driving a small SUV, investing in my education, and so on. So with aspirations in mind, I am mindful of my current conditions. That has led me too making the best out of my situation & writing block posts each day. And while I’m on that topic, I have began to post videos on my Instagram so head over there and check those out. Both my personal and my business accounts will be active here shortly. That’s another good thing about going hands-free is that I am able to take tedious tasks and make lighter work of them. When I was typing at the beginning of this post, I immediately felt a sort of hunch come over and it was a hunch that required more than good posture. It was a facilitative hunch because of having to reach out to the keys or look down to the screen. Even as I profess these claims, I bear witness to the reality that I will likely have to go back and edit this voice command. That is OK however because that is something that I would’ve had to do anyway. There is this concept in medicine that explains why sometimes referrals are waived if the treatment is going to be the same either way. that’s how I feel about editing when it comes to typing or using the dictation feature. if I’m gonna have to edit either way then, the way I see it, the less time tied up in compromising positions, the better. In that same breath,I would like to acknowledge that mobility is imperative. So while I want to maintain my ability to hold these different postures, I want to be mindful that isometric holds are beneficial to some degree. However, when it comes to computer work, I feel like the imbalance is due to a rapidly digitizing world. as demand becomes greater for the online market, more pressure exists to persuade individuals to focus their efforts there. Thanks to recent technologies like AI, mundane paperwork is becoming a thing of the past. I lean into this new way of life because I am a person who has seen the unintended consequences of conventional workplace settings for a long time. These new & groundbreaking discoveries inspire me and give me hope towards the future. This is the path I want to work with. After all, artificial intelligence has existed in our communities before it has existed in computers. that’s all for now and I look forward to seeing you all in the near future!
